Working to benefit the community.

The Congregational & General Charitable Trust disburses grants to Protestant Churches, in particular those of the United Reformed and Congregational denominations, for building maintainance and capital costs of church community projects.

Established in 1956 as the charitable arm of the Congregational Insurance Company and reformed in 1987 as a separate entity. The Congregational & General Charitable Trust receives a contribution from the insurance company which has been wholly owned by the Trust since 1994.

Following a review in 2007 the Council of Management which is responsible for the administration and management of the trust was restructured and now comprises 8 members.
